Backs and Bones right?
Osteopaths are often assumed to only treat bones, usually the bones of the back. This is likely due to the Greek translation for "osteo" meaning bone and "path" disease. Although commonly misconceived, Osteopaths have a subsequent knowledge of the whole body, from your head to your toes and treat various areas on a daily basis.
Osteopathy was formulated on the principle that the body is a unit and everything is connected to work together in harmony. Osteopathic treatment not only involves working on the symptomatic area, but also with structural imbalances that are present in the body which may be the source of the problem. Our aim is to to restore an optimum state of physical function and overall well-being.
Much more than just backs...
